Crazy for Crazy
quilt.
I rummaged through my stash and pulled out fabric and thread in the colours of sweet potato and roast chestnut. Autumn has set in in Tokyo - we take a step into the new season with every typhoon - so the colours reflect some of the seasonal culinary delights.
The brocade is a lovely piece of indian silk, then there is velveteen and velvet, linen and cotton, and the checked fabric is actually water resistant fabric for raincoats. Oh, I love that in crazy quilting any fabric can be used, just mix and match.

Although most of the threads will be in the same shades as the fabric, for the trimmings I have picked out some ric-rac, metallic braid and a piece of vintage braid. These will accent the little bit of turquoise from the Indian brocade.
I am still wondering how I will 'dress' the two buttons.
In different light the colours look a bit different....
but I HAVE got started on the piecing.
